Good training starts with understanding the dog in front of you. At Dominus K9 Training, we focus on clear communication, individualized training, and practical skills that fit into real life - all while giving you the tools to keep making progress long after the session ends.
Every dog is different. We consider behavior, temperament, history, environment, and learning style while building a training plan.
Training doesn't stop when the session ends. You learn how to read your dog, communicate clearly, and continue build progress at home.
We build skills where they actually matter - at home, on walks, in public, and around everyday distractions.

Anjelica, CCDT | Owner & Dog Trainer
Hi! I'm Anjelica, the owner and trainer behind Dominus K9 Training! My passion for animals goes beyond obedience training. I've always been fascinated by animal behavior, cognition, and body language, particularly understanding why animals behave the way they do and how they communicate with the world around them. I became disabled in 2019, requiring a service dog for my seizure disorder and C-PTSD. Unable to afford training at the time, I ended up training my own pup, Hunter Dominus, and within 3 years we became a SD team. The journey was anything but easy, but incredibly rewarding, and I made the decision to give back to those like me, helping where I am able. Thanks to Hunter, the itch to learn more continued to grow, and here we are almost a decade later! My educational background includes completing the Master Class (CCDT program) through CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, along with university studies in animal science and animal care and behavior. During my studies, I even incorporated my own flock of chickens into my academic projects to further explore animal behavior and cognition! With hands-on experience in the pet care industry ranging from grooming/bathing, nutrition, daycare/boarding, vet tech experience, and a passion for continued learning, I approach training with an emphasis on understanding each dog's individual personality, motivations, and needs. At Dominus K9 Training, my goal is to help owners build stronger relationships with their dogs through clear communication, consistency, and practical training that carries over into everyday life while also being able to understand and communicate with their pup. Because great training starts with understanding the dog in front of you!

CATCH Canine Trainers Academy Master Class- CCDT Program
Hands-on experience with dogs of different breeds, ages, temperaments, and behavioral needs. Anjelica specializes with high energy breeds, and loves to work through reactivity after one of her own pups developed anxiety and pain-induced reactivity. Anjelica also have 10+ years of experience in the dog world ranging from grooming/bathing, nutrition, vet services, and even doggy daycare/boarding.
When attending CATCH, Anjelica mentored under a phenomenal trainer, Katie Barger, of Horns to Halos based in Richlands, NC. Katie passed on knowledge one can only get with hands-on experience, and this added to the burning fire to learn more, which ultimately pushed Anjelica to purse animal science. While attending college, she majored in animal Science/care & behavior studies, with a strong focus on body language, cognition, and learning.
We start by getting to know you and your dog, talking through your goals, and watching how your dog responds. Then we practice a few foundational skills together and leave you with a clear plan for what to work on next.

Simple habits that make everyday training easier for you and your dog.
Five to ten focused minutes a few times a day beats one long session. End while your dog is still eager.
Mark and reward the instant your dog makes the right choice so the connection is clear.
Pick one word per behavior and make sure everyone in the home uses it the same way.
Build the skill in a quiet room first, then move to the yard and busier places one step at a time.
